The Movement

“I want to bring studios the missing piece of the puzzle – the knowledge and motivation they need to truly succeed in competition and at convention. It’s about more than a trophy, it’s about dancers and teachers knowing they left it all on the floor, proud of what they did and confident in who they are. ” –Kim McSwain

Changing Lives: The Movement is a two-day in-studio convention experience customized to fit the needs of your studio. It provides the training and expertise offered at convention but in a more intimate format that allows every dancer – no matter their skill level – to advance technically and grow personally.

How It Works

Our staff arrives Thursday night to prepare for the weekend. Friday begins with a studio-wide meeting to discuss the weekend’s agenda. This is your opportunity to voice your hopes for the weekend and help us tailor our goals to best suit the needs of your dancers, faculty, and studio. Our staff offers choreography and private lessons during the day before we launch into a 5-hour schedule of evening classes for 3 different skill levels.

Saturday classes run all day and include…

  • Multiple genres (you choose what you need)
  • Audition preparation
  • Team building and journaling
  • Parent Q&A with Miss Kim
  • Faculty training
  • Studio management and business consulting

Saturday night we host a competition showcase where dancers perform their routines and receive honest, valuable feedback from our expert staff to help them at competitions and conventions. The showcase also gives dancers an opportunity to earn convention scholarships to some of the best dance conventions and events in the industry.

At Changing Lives, we value having a ‘day of rest’ each week for you and your studio families to be able to spend time with loved ones. So while we don’t extend The Movement past Saturday evening, our faculty is still available on Sunday for choreography, classes, and private lessons, if you wish.

We’d love to bring The Movement to your studio! Book Here
